Long ago in China a farmer had a great harvest. "Oh, so lucky!" said his neighbors. The farmer said, "We'll see." In their hurry to take in all their abundance, the farmer's only son fell from a ladder and broke his leg. "Oh, so unlucky!" cried his neighbors. The farmer said, "We'll see." That very next day the Army came through seeking all able-bodied young men to fight in what would surely be a hopeless battle leaving all dead or maimed. The son was not taken because of his injury.
